HCMC – Taking a bus ride along line number 10 in HCMC, tourists can visit some fascinating attractions, such as Binh Tay Market, Quoc Tu Pagoda, and the Southern Women’s Museum.
Bus Line 10 starts from the Vietnam National University HCMC station in Thu Duc City and ends at the Mien Tay coach station in Binh Tan District. It runs daily from 4:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., with around 100 trips per day.
Binh Tay Market
Binh Tay Market, also known as Cho Lon, was constructed in the early 20th century. Covering an area of over 17,000 square meters, the market features East Asian architectural design.
Currently, the market hosts over 2,300 stalls specializing in selling wholesale goods. Visitors can enjoy the market’s historic architecture, learn about its rich history, and shop at affordable prices. In 2017, the market was designated as a city-level architectural and artistic heritage site.
Phung Hung Market
Situated on Phung Hung Street in Ward 14, District 5, Phung Hung Market is about 500 meters from Kim Bien Market and over one kilometer from Binh Tay Market. Known as “Thu Do Market,” it earned its name due to its proximity to the Thu Do Theater and Thu Do Hotel.
The market operates from around 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with two different sessions. The morning session primarily sells fresh produce, while the afternoon session offers distinctive Chinese dishes such as stir-fried noodles, bitter melon stir-fried with chili, dumplings, and meatballs.
Hong Bang Secondary School
Located at 132 Hong Bang Street, Ward 12, District 5, Hong Bang Secondary School was built by the French in 1933 as a boarding school for the children of French expatriates working in Vietnam.
In 1967, it was renamed the Hong Bang Education Center. After 1975, the Vietnamese government took charge and named it Hong Bang Secondary School. In 2015, it was honored with the designation of a city-level architectural and artistic monument.
Quoc Tu Pagoda or Vietnam’s National Pagoda
Established in 1964, Quoc Tu Pagoda stands at 244 Ba Thang Hai Street, District 10. Notable structures within its premises include the main hall, the Quach Thi Trang orphanage, and the remarkable 13-story Da Bao Tower, dedicated to venerating the relic of the esteemed monk Thich Quang Duc.
Quoc Tu Pagoda is frequented by Buddhist followers and tourists to HCMC.
Southern Women’s Museum
Located at 202 Vo Thi Sau Street, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3, the Southern Women’s Museum was established in 1985. Initially named the Traditional House of Southern Women, its aim was to preserve and educate about the patriotism and traditions of southern women for future generations.
The museum currently houses over 40,000 artifacts and scientific documents. Covering approximately 3,699 square meters, the exhibition building features various displays focusing on the history of Vietnamese conflicts and the cultural legacy of southern women.
Le Van Tam Park
Le Van Tam Park is situated along three major streets in HCMC: Vo Thi Sau, Hai Ba Trung, and Dien Bien Phu.
With its spacious and green spaces, Le Van Tam Park is often chosen as a venue for various events and community activities. These include the HCMC Book Fair, commercial events, cultural exchanges, food festivals, and tourism activities.
Van Thanh Tourist Area
Situated at 48/10 Dien Bien Phu, Ward 22, Binh Thanh District, Van Thanh Tourist Area offers a perfect escape for travelers seeking a countryside ambiance with friends and family over the weekend.
