HCMC – Le Van Dung, permanent deputy secretary of Quang Nam Province’s Party Committee, has been elected as chairman of the People’s Committee of the province, said local media reports.
During the 23rd session of the 10th Quang Nam People’s Council held this morning, June 21, delegates voted unanimously to elect Dung as chairman for the 2021-2026 term.
Dung received all 50 votes in favor and was elected to the position, replacing Le Tri Thanh, who was dismissed on April 8.
Le Van Dung, 57, hails from Que Binh Commune, Hiep Duc District, Quang Nam Province. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics.
Dung has served as the permanent deputy secretary of the province’s Party Committee since 2019. In July 2021, he was elected to the 15th National Assembly and appointed as head of Quang Nam Province’s Delegation to the National Assembly.
The Quang Nam People’s Council also elected Phan Thai Binh, chairman of the Quang Nam Party Committee’s Inspection Commission, as vice chairman of the province. Tran Nam Hung was re-elected as vice chairman of the province.
