HCMC – The southern city of Ba Ria has begun compensating residents for land clearance related to the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway project, with VND152 billion allocated for this purpose.
The expressway section in Long Tam Ward affects 60 households and organizations. Compensation and support cover residential and agricultural land, structures, plants, livestock, and 14 resettlement plots, totaling over VND125 billion.
An additional VND23.7 billion is allocated for rental support, occupational transition, job search assistance, and livelihood stabilization.
The section in Ba Ria spans 5.35 kilometers, impacting Hoa Long Commune, Long Tam Ward, and Long Toan Ward. By late May, these areas had transferred the necessary land to the project investors, who have begun compensating and resettling eligible cases.
Authorities aim to complete land clearance and hand over the cleared land to the developer by July 31.
The Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province section of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway is nearly 16.5 kilometers long, divided into three sections. The first, from National Highway 56 in Ba Ria City to Vung Van roundabout in Long Dien District, has an approved budget of VND6.7 trillion.
The second section, from Vung Van roundabout to the coastal road of Vung Tau-Binh Thuan (DT 994) in Vung Tau City, has a budget of nearly VND5.2 trillion. Both are slated for investment from 2023 to 2027.
The third section, from the coastal road of Vung Tau-Binh Thuan (DT 994) to the roundabout at roads 51B and 51C in Vung Tau, has a total investment of nearly VND2 trillion and is projected to proceed from 2024 to 2028.
