HCMC – The Party Central Committee (PCC) today, August 3, announced that four of its members had resigned.

They are Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh, Quang Ninh Province’s Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Ky, and Tuyen Quang Province’s Party Secretary Chau Van Lam.

The PCC accepted the formal requests for resignation from the four during an extraordinary session of the Party Central Committee chaired by General Secretary of the Party and State President To Lam.

The decisions came after a thorough review of the Central Inspection Commission inspection reports which found the four senior officials had violated Party regulations on carrying out assigned duties, breached the rules on the don’ts for Party members and on Party members’ responsibility of acting as role models, and infringed anti-corruption regulations.

Having acknowledged their misconduct, the four officials submitted their resignations. The PCC accepted these resignations based on the current Party and State regulations and the individuals’ requests.

Le Minh Khai, born in 1964 in Bac Lieu Province, is also a member of the PCC’s Secretariat. He became Deputy Prime Minister in April 2021.

Dang Quoc Khanh, a native of Ha Tinh Province born in 1976, was picked as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment in May 2023.

Nguyen Xuan Ky, born in 1972 in Nam Dinh Province, assumed the role of secretary of the the Party Committee of Quang Ninh Province in September 2019.

Chau Van Lam, a 1967 native of Tuyen Quang Province, has served as secretary of the Tuyen Quang Party Committee since March 2015.
