Poland aims to boost direct food and agricultural exports to Vietnam

HCMC – Poland is focusing on enhancing trade relations with Vietnam to increase direct exports of its food and agricultural products, as many Polish products currently enter the Vietnamese market through intermediaries, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

This announcement was made during the “Taste Europe” event in HCMC on August 8. The program was organized by the Polish Chamber of Commerce, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency Representative Office in HCMC, the Association of Butchers and Producers of Processed Meat of the Republic of Poland (SRW RP), and other partners.

Tomasz Parzybut, CEO of SRW RP, said at the event that with the rising incomes of Vietnamese consumers and their growing interest in health-conscious choices, Polish companies are eager to capitalize on these trends and introduce their products directly to the Vietnamese market.

Piotr Harasimowicz, head of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency Representative Office in HCMC, emphasized the significance of the partnership between Vietnam and Poland, noting the steady increase in Polish food exports to Vietnam in recent years.

However, he pointed out that many Polish products still enter Vietnam through indirect channels. Poland is now keen to establish direct import channels, with the “Taste Europe” program serving as a key initiative to achieve this goal.

One notable development is that Polish companies are in the process of securing the necessary approval to begin exporting beef to Vietnam by the end of this year. Following their success in exporting chicken, pork, apples and beverages, these companies are now looking for partners to distribute beef in the Vietnamese market.

The “Taste Europe” program is an annual effort aimed at helping Polish businesses in the agriculture and food and beverage industries find new partners and expand into international markets.

This year’s program features 30 Polish companies promoting products such as beef, pork, apples, and apple products.
