HCMC – Keppel Land has contributed a total of VND7.4 billion to Vietnam’s Covid-19 pandemic fight, it was announced at a ceremony organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of HCMC today, October 20.
A donation of VND7.1 billion, in cash and in kind, made by Keppel Land Vietnam and its joint venture company, Keppel Land Watco II, will go to Vietnam’s vaccination campaigns and hospitals in HCMC providing Covid treatment.
In addition, Keppel Land Watco II also donated VND300 million worth of medical supplies to State agencies in HCMC.
“As a pioneer and one of the largest foreign real estate investors in Vietnam, Keppel Land is committed to supporting Vietnam’s Covid-19 relief efforts,” said Louis Lim, chief executive officer of Keppel Land.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of HCMC expressed its appreciation over Keppel’s support for Vietnam’s ongoing pandemic response, saying that with the strong local and overseas support, Vietnam will soon protect the health and lives of its people, stabilize the society and continue to develop the country.
Since the start of the pandemic, Keppel Land, a subsidiary of a Singapore flagship multinational company, Keppel Corporation, has put in place precautionary measures to minimize the spread of the coronavirus and protect its employees, tenants and visitors, as well as implement business continuity plans.
Keppel Land is currently exploring other measures to support vulnerable groups in Vietnam in the fight against Covid.
Since its entry into Vietnam in the 1990s, Keppel Land has established itself in the country with a quality portfolio, mainly in HCMC, including Grade A offices, residential properties, retail malls, integrated townships and award-winning serviced apartments.
Keppel Land has also been active in the community in Vietnam through a range of corporate social responsibility programs, including providing tertiary education scholarships to talented students in Vietnam who face financial difficulties and sponsoring a library project to promote reading and learning among students.
