HCMC – Phu Nhuan Jewelry JSC (HOSE: PNJ) will pay nearly VND470 billion in dividend in the second tranche for fiscal 2023, with October 2 set as the record date and October 16 as the payment date.
Shareholders will get VND1,400 per share, which means a dividend of 14%. Combined with the 6% dividend paid in April, the total dividend for fiscal 2023 is now 20%.
PNJ reported revenue of nearly VND26.9 trillion from January to August, up by 27.2% year-on-year. With this result, the jewelry retailer has achieved 72.3% of its full-year net revenue target.
Net profit in the eight-month period rose by 2.8% year-on-year to VND1.28 trillion. Retail sales accounted for 53% of total revenue, and increased by 15.1% year-on-year due to an expanded distribution network and new jewelry collections.
Closing the trading session today, September 24, PNJ edged up by 0.3% to VND99,400 per share, with 845,700 shares matched.
With 256 winners and 119 losers, the VN-Index on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange added 8.51 points, or 0.67%, at 1,276.99 on Tuesday.
Trading volume and value surged 45% and 39% over the previous session, respectively. Over 817.5 million shares valued at over VND17.9 trillion were traded. Block deals accounted for over 327.7 million shares worth VND6.3 trillion.
In the VN30 basket, which groups the 30 largest-cap stocks, 25 bluechips advanced. BVH, VNM and PLX made slight losses while HDB and SSI remained flat.
Bank stocks stole the limelight today. ACB, MBB, VIB, STB and VPB saw brisk trading activity, with volumes ranging from 12.7 million to 37.6 million shares each.
VIB closed up by 3.2% at VND19,100 per share, with a trading volume of 19 million shares. Foreign investors sold 148 million shares in block deals, totaling nearly VND2.7 trillion. This sale may be linked to a reduction in foreign ownership at the lender, which was lowered to 4.99% from 20.5% during an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in June.
STB added 3.4% to VND31,850 per share, with a volume of 24.8 million shares. VPB took the lead by liquidity on the southern market, with more than 37.6 million shares changing hands.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, 89 stocks rose and 56 others dipped. The HNX-Index gained 0.94 point, or 0.40%, ending at 234.32 points. Trading volume on the northern exchange reached over 40.3 million shares valued at VND801.4 billion.
