HCMC – Lion dance performances drew crowds of residents and tourists across HCMC on the first day of the Lunar New Year. Troupes are in high demand, with fully booked schedules for Tet celebrations.
Traditionally, lion dances symbolize prosperity and good fortune. Spectators engage in the ritual of offering lucky money to the lions, which return the gesture with tangerines, symbolizing peace and success.Nguyen Tien Loc, head of the Xuan Hoa Duong lion dance troupe, said his team consists of 25 members staging performances across the city.
