HCMC – Vietnam exported around 154,600 tons of coffee last month, generating US$799.5 million, according to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA).
Of this total, 137,600 tons of raw coffee were shipped abroad, bringing in US$694.9 million, a 38.2% drop in volume but an 8.8% increase in value compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, processed coffee exports reached 17,067 tons, earning nearly US$104.6 million, accounting for 11% of total volume and 13.1% of export value, according to the Government news site (baochinhphu.vn).
Foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises contributed 21.8% of raw coffee exports and 22.4% of the total export value in January.
In 2024, Vietnam recorded its highest-ever coffee export figures, with nearly 1.35 million tons worth US$5.62 billion shipped. The average export price hit a record US$4,178 per ton, with prices peaking at US$5,855 per ton in November 2024.
Germany was Vietnam’s largest coffee buyer in 2024, importing 155,703 tons worth US$602.89 million, accounting for 11.6% of total volume and 10.7% of total export value.
