After winning So You Think You Can Dance, Sabra Johnson moved to Vietnam, driven by her passion for dance beyond the title of “winner.” In an interview with The Saigon Times, Johnson shared her reflections on her new life in Vietnam, where she focuses on spreading her love for dance and nurturing a greater appreciation for the art. The Saigon Times: How has being in Vietnam influenced your journey as a dancer? Sabra Johnson: After winning So You Think You Can Dance, I traveled a lot, but I decided to stay in Vietnam. Many opportunities came my way that allowed me to fully immerse myself in dancing, teaching, choreographing, directing, and even opening a company! I’ve been able to explore so many sides of myself here and have met incredible mentors who guide and support me. The dancers here are so much fun and full of life—it’s hard to imagine myself enjoying this journey anywhere else. Vietnam has truly become home for me.
