HCMC expected to pilot self-quarantine monitoring app

Must read

HCMC – A mobile application to check compliance with self-quarantine measures is expected to be launched on a trial basis in HCMC’s District 12 in two weeks, according to the HCMC Media Center.

The city’s IT team majoring in Covid-19 infection prevention and control at a meeting on August 3 suggested the municipal government conduct the pilot test aimed at evaluating the app’s efficacy before launching it for public use. The team will report the results of the pilot test to the city government.

The pilot test will be conducted by the HCMC Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the HCMC IT Department, the Quang Trung Software City Development Company, the Tuong Minh Software Solutions Company and the HCMC Computer Association.

The app will monitor quarantined individuals by keeping track of their body temperatures and locations in real time and issuing warnings when these readings exceed the allowed limits or when quarantined persons venture outside their designated quarantine spaces. Their travel history and body temperature will also be saved in the app.

The system to manage the self-quarantine compliance includes the app in connection with a watch measuring body temperature and a mobile phone.

The app can be installed on various devices that can measure body temperature, connect to a mobile phone via bluetooth and allow data tracking.
