CAN THO — Les Vergers du Mékong JSC, the company behind the Le Fruit, Folliet, and Cafes Le brands, marked its 25th anniversary today, September 19, with a gathering of farmers, authorities and customers at its factory in Can Tho City.

The biennial event, known as Farmer Day, was held to strengthen ties with farmers and partners who have accompanied the company over the years. This year’s theme, “25 Years of Sustainable Growth – From Green to Trust,” highlighted the firm’s focus on sustainability and community engagement.

The program included farmer testimonies on natural farming practices, partner discussions on consumer trends, and activities promoting sustainable development.

At the event, a representative from An Nam Gourmet, a partner of Le Fruit, said Le Fruit’s citrus products had received positive feedback at its supermarkets, noting growing consumer demand for organic food as health awareness rises. JW Marriott reported it has been using Le Fruit’s juices and jams, citing requirements for safety, consistent quality and international standards.

Le Fruit and Folliet said it has integrated environmental, social and governance principles into its operations over the past 25 years. Each year, about 600 tons of fruit pulp are recycled into organic compost for local farms in Can Tho. Around 18,000 glass jars and bottles are reused or recycled monthly, and research is underway to recycle paper-based packaging.

The company operates a wastewater treatment system with a capacity of 500 cubic meters, ensuring that the discharged water meets Class A standards. Its solar power system of 336 panels saves around VND143 million annually, with plans to cover the entire plant roof by 2026.

Farmers and partners share their experiences in sustainable agriculture

Le Van Dong, general director of Le Fruit, said the company’s success comes from the trust of farmers and the loyalty of customers. He added that Le Fruit will continue to pursue sustainable growth, expand organic farming, open a new factory and act as a bridge between farmers and consumers.

Le Fruit works with nearly 2,000 farming households in the Mekong Delta and Central Highlands, providing stable purchasing and technical support to improve income and livelihoods. It was also the first F&B company in Vietnam to receive B Corp certification.

Founded in 2000, Les Vergers du Mékong produces fruit juices, jams and purees under the Le Fruit brand, and coffee and tea under the Folliet brand.
