HCMC – Storm Ragasa weakened into a tropical depression today, September 25, while Storm Bualoi has strengthened to level 12 and is forecast to enter the East Sea late on September 26, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
Bualoi is the 20th storm to form in the Northwest Pacific this year, said Hoang Phuc Lam, deputy director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
International forecasting models show uncertainty in Bualoi’s path and intensity. As the storm consolidates, predictions are expected to become more reliable, the weather forecaster said. The storm’s maximum intensity is forecast to be lower than Ragasa’s. However, its potential impact on Vietnam’s mainland could be as strong as, or stronger than, Ragasa’s.
