HCMC – The Politburo has assigned Tran Luu Quang to continue serving as Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
Today morning, October 14, at the official session of the first Congress of the HCMC Party Committee for the 2025-2030 tenure, the Organization Commission of the Party Central Committee announced the Politburo’s decision on the appointment of members of the Executive Committee, the Standing Board, and the Secretary and Deputy Secretaries of the HCMC Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
According to the decision, Tran Luu Quang continues holding the position of Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
The deputy secretaries of the HCMC Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term are Le Quoc Phong, Nguyen Van Duoc, Vo Van Minh, Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Dang Minh Thong, and Van Thi Bach Tuyet.
Previously, on August 25, the Politburo decided to transfer, assign, and appoint Tran Luu Quang to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Board, and serve as Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Tran Luu Quang was born in 1967 in Trang Bang Ward, Tay Ninh Province. He holds a master’s degree in public management, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in political theory.
During more than 30 years of public service, Quang has held various leadership positions at both local and central levels.
His appointment as secretary of the HCMC Party Committee marks a return to the city’s leadership, as he previously served as permanent deputy secretary of the HCMC Party Committee from February 2019 to June 2021.
