Vietnam has 16 new Covid-19 cases, one more death

HCMC – Vietnam’s Covid-19 infections and deaths have amounted to 863 and 16, respectively, with 16 fresh locally-transmitted cases and one more fatality being confirmed yesterday evening, August 11.

The Health Ministry said that 10 new cases are in Danang, four others in Quang Nam Province, and the remaining two in Quang Tri.

The ten Covid-19 patients in Danang are local residents there, aged between 14 and 78.

The four patients in Quang Nam, aged 26-55, are those coming into close contact with Covid-19 patients and one patient caregiver at Danang Hospital. They are under treatment at Quang Nam Central General Hospital.

The two cases in Quang Tri, aged 36 and 66, included one interacting with previous confirmed cases and one caregiver.

The Health Ministry yesterday afternoon reported the 16th Covid-19 death. The deceased, a 37-year-old resident in the central province of Quang Tri, died of severe pneumonia caused by Covid-19, type 1 diabetes, and heart failure. He was pronounced dead at 10:30 a.m. yesterday.

As of August 11, 399 of 863 Covid-19 confirmed cases in the country have fully recovered, while 448 are under treatment, and 16 died.
