HCMC – Vietnam reported two new community-transmitted cases of Covid-19 this morning, August 17, taking the country’s total infections to 964 to date, said the Health Ministry.
One patient is a 30-year-old man residing in Hai Duong City in the province of the same name. On August 3, he dined at a restaurant in the city’s Pham Ngu Lao Ward, at which an outbreak of Covid-19 was discovered later.
The other patient is residing in the central province of Quang Nam, aged 49. On July 11, she attended a wedding party in neighboring Danang City, which is now the country’s epicenter of Covid-19 infections..
Until now, the number of community-transmitted cases linked to the Danang coronavirus hotspot has amounted to 488 since July 25.
Of the country’s tally, 456 Covid-19 patients have fully recovered, 484 others are under treatment, and 24 have died.
