HCMC – Phu Tho Province has imposed social distancing measures in the communes of Khai Xuan and Vo Lao of Thanh Ba District starting 7 a.m. today, August 20, until further notice, after a local resident tested positive for Covid-19.
The northern province also formed 23 monitoring teams in the two communes to check and deal with violations on social distancing measures.
Besides this, it has locked down an area where the person infected with Covid-19 is living, including 101 households with 450 residents. It has also set up five quarantine checkpoints at the entrances to the quarantined areas.
At 5:48 p.m. on August 19, the province’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was informed by CDC Hanoi that an 87-year-old resident residing in Khai Xuan Commune, Thanh Ba District, tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Following the directions of the provincial health authority, CDC Phu Tho teamed up with the Thanh Ba Medical Center to identify the number of people who were in close contact with the man and disinfected his house.
