Landslide leaves three students dead in Tuyen Quang

HCMC – A landslide buried and killed three students, aged 6, 9 and 10, and injured another in Tuyen Quang Province’s Son Duong District on December 23.

 

The incident occurred at 4.00 p.m. on the day while four students were taking a trip to the hills behind their houses, according to the Son Duong government.

 

After being notified of the landslide, the competent forces quickly approached the scene in Thuong Am Commune’s Dong Ben 2 Hamlet to rescue and search for the victims.

 

The scene of the landslide is next to a mine, which was quarried several years ago and is in the process of undergoing backfilling, the local media reported.

 

The local authorities are investigating the reason for the deadly landslide.
