Eclipse Logistics: enthusiasm behind workaday CSR activities

Must read

HCMC – For the HCMC-based logistics service provider Eclipse Logistics, corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities are not necessarily big-moneyed endeavors, but the great heart behind good deeds to benefit the society. Such awareness has now become the company’s corporate culture, says Nguyen Khoa Vinh, founder and chairman of Eclipse Logistics.

Still a young company, Eclipse Logistics has joined hands with the 2030 Businesspeople Club under the Saigon Times Group in numerous charitable programs to support disadvantaged people in many parts of the country.

“The company has always put corporate social responsibility (CSR) at the heart of its corporate culture since it was founded 10 years ago,” says the young leader of Eclipse Logistics.

Vinh, who is currently vice chairman of the 2030 Businesspeople Club, commented that joining hands with the 2030 Businesspeople Club offers a great opportunity for the Eclipse Logistics staff to contribute to CSR programs. He has been in charge of many programs such as the fourth Olympic 2030 sporting event, the Charitable Caravan and the Library Caravan events in 2018 and 2019.

Eclipse Logistics and the club have carried out numerous charitable programs in Can Gio, Long An, Moc Chau, Ben Tre and other parts across the country. They have together upgraded libraries and donated books to poor schools in remote areas and given thousands of bicycles and stationery items to needy students.

Through the 15th Charitable Caravan program this year, Eclipse Logistics donated a large amount of face masks to medical workers in Danang, a central city that was the Covid-19 epicenter in Vietnam, to keep them safe from the pandemic.

It is noteworthy that the company’s founder has managed to inspire the employees to participate in CSR programs. Vinh recalls how he has told them inspiring stories of charitable events that he had joined, especially about how these activities help boosting motivations at work and the happy feeling when seeing underprivileged people get help.

The CSR spirit has gradually but strongly spread among the Eclipse Logistics staff. They understand that CSR means not only providing relief for underprivileged people but also helping them develop by themselves.

Several employees at Eclipse Logistics have frequently asked Vinh: “When will our next charitable event take place?” as they are so eager to join new CSR programs, he states.

“I was very moved when I saw the employees enthusiastically took part in CSR programs and had new relationships during the events. These were also the chance for them to learn from the others and develop themselves while lending a helping hand to the community,” Vinh said.

Vinh was also one of the first 2030 Businesspeople Club members who built the Olympic 2030 sporting event. “The wealth and happiness of businesspeople have no longer been measured by their money but by the number of sporting events they have participated. Businesspeople must be healthy to be able to give back to the community,” he asserts.

Being one of the organizers of the Olympic 2030 sporting event, he has to reduce his workload by 50% at Eclipse Logistics. However, Vinh says it’s worth sacrificing because he can connect and inspire many businesspeople who are members of the 2030 Businesspeople Club.

The two-month-long Olympic 2030 sporting event last year, with the theme “A Green Olympic”, aimed to raise the participants’ awareness over environmental protection. Vinh himself designed the “Bino Dog”, which was the mascot of the event, to remind everyone of its environmental protection message.

Moreover, Vinh has taken part in the Bizgroup 2030 – Training & Sharing, a series of seminars held during 2019 that aimed to help young businesses overcome difficulties. Through the program, Vinh and other businesspeople of the 2030 Businesspeople Club have provided young Vietnamese businesses with the opportunities to reach out to foreign markets.

“I want to give back to the community through various ways. The more I take part in CSR programs, the more I feel enthusiastic,” he shared.
