HCMC – A recovered coronavirus patient from Thanh Binh Ward of Hai Duong City, previously tagged as the country’s 972nd case, has tested positive for the virus again, the Hai Duong Center for Disease Control announced today, September 21.
The patient, who was linked to the The Gioi Bo Tuoi Restaurant at 36 Ngo Quyen Street in the city, was discharged from hospital on September 1 after testing negative for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, four times.
However, on September 19, his sample was taken for Covid-19 testing and came back positive, VietnamPlus news site reported.
His sample was also tested by the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology a day later and the test result came back positive for Covid-19.
The patient now remains in a stable condition and is not developing more symptoms of the disease. He is under treatment at the Hai Duong Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
After he re-tested positive, his wife, two children and domestic helper had their samples taken on September 19 and their test results returned negative for the virus.
Hai Duong Province has placed 177 people under quarantine, with 134 persons quarantined at local healthcare facilities and designated centers.
