Flower power in full bloom in Dalat

HCMC – The flower farms of Dalat Hasfarm, the largest of its kind in Dalat City, are a colorful treat to the eyes, displaying an array of flowers being prepared for the upcoming lunar New Year holiday or Tet.

The company has four glasshouse farms in Dalat, Da Quy-Xuan Tho, Da Ron-Don Duong and Phuc Tho-Lam Ha.

According to Dalat Hasfarm, the four farms have hundreds of workers who have been cultivating, pruning and wrapping flowers for the upcoming Tet holiday
Dalat Hasfarm has been preparing 10 million sprigs of flowers and 1.6 million flowerpots, including seven million sprigs of chrysanthemum and the remaining as roses, carnations and lisianthus, which will then be sent to the market
The Magnum chrysanthemum, bigger than a normal hand, is expected to attract a large number of customers

Besides cultivating flowers on its farms in Lam Dong Province, Dalat Hasfarm also imported a large volume of flowers from the Netherlands and Malaysia and provided them to large cities, such as Hanoi, HCMC, Can Tho and Dalat
Aad Gordijn, CEO of Dalat Hasfarm, said the company had been producing and trading in over 750 types of flowers. The company has annually researched and planted many flower varieties on a trial basis, originating from many countries worldwide. One of Dalat Hasfarm’s orientations and criteria is solid improvement and development

Colorful flower farms with an array of flowers

To create high-quality flower sprigs and flowerpots, all glasshouse farms of the company have been equipped with the automated operation system Hortimax, imported from the Netherlands

The company has also used automated drip irrigation, heating, LED light and conveyor systems to maximize productivity and save resources and manpower
Nguyen The Dong, director of Dalat Hasfarm’s retail and ecommerce system, said the company’s fresh flower revenue in the domestic market had grown well. The company is striving to ensure sufficient flowers for the Tet holiday. The average prices of the company’s flowers will increase by 10%-15% three weeks prior to the Tet holiday
