HCMC – The anti-smuggling forces of Khanh Hoa Province have busted a smuggling ring of Covid test kits and face masks with unknown origin in Nha Trang City.
After examining a warehouse owned by Vo Thi Nhu Lan, aged 52, on Thong Nhat Street in Van Thang Ward on March 9, the competent forces found 3,900 Covid test kits, 65,900 face masks and 200 bottles of sanitizer, while Lan failed to show the documents of the goods.
Lan admitted to the police that she started hoarding test kits from many cities and provinces to sell them in Nha Trang City in November last year. She earned VND4,000-6,000 from each kit sold.
The preliminary investigation results showed that these test kits were manufactured in China’s Guangdong Province, the local media reported.
