HCMC – Anheuser-Busch InBev’s brewery in the southern province of Binh Duong has doubled its annual capacity to 100 million liters over the past decade, up from 50 million liters in 2015.

AB InBev celebrated the 10th anniversary of its brewery at the VSIP II-A Industrial Park in Binh Duong this morning, May 21. The facility is the company’s first in Southeast Asia and one of 55 advanced breweries worldwide producing Budweiser.

With a total investment of US$238 million, AB InBev’s brewery features the company’s most advanced automated production line, handling all stages from brewing and fermentation to filtration, cooling, bottling, and packaging.

The firm has gradually built a sustainable production ecosystem through energy-saving and water conservation initiatives. The first phase of its solar power system was put into operation in 2020, with the second phase set for completion by 2025, doubling current solar capacity.

Since 2020, water consumption at the brewery has been reduced by 54%, moving closer to the company’s global target of using less than two liters of water per liter of beer by the end of 2025.

Craig MacLean, managing director of AB InBev Southeast Asia, said: “In an era where consumers are more discerning than ever, Budweiser doesn’t rely on flashy slogans. We let premium quality speak for itself. We’re steadfast in maintaining global, original standards, no matter the circumstances, so that every sip tells its story…”

AB InBev is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040, and the firm is working toward that goal at their breweries in Vietnam, he said in an interview.

Meanwhile, Craig Katerberg, chief legal and corporate affairs officer for Budweiser APAC, noted that the anniversary is not just a look back at the past, but a step forward toward a future filled with more celebrations. The company remains deeply committed to quality, the community, and its consumers, aiming to contribute to the continued growth of Binh Duong, HCMC and Vietnam.
