HCMC – AEON Vietnam will open AEON Tan An, its eighth shopping center nationwide and the first in the Mekong Delta, the company said at an August 20 press briefing.

The shopping mall is scheduled to open on September 23, and officially launch on October 4, 2025.

With a total investment of more than VND1 trillion, it will cover about 27,000 square meters on Hung Vuong Street, adjacent to National Highway 1A and about one kilometer from the HCMC-Trung Luong Expressway.

In addition to its department store and supermarket, AEON Tan An will feature 30 outlets for fashion, sports, bookstores, cafés, an entertainment area, and a cinema.

Unlike AEON’s larger-scale malls, AEON Tan An is medium-sized, with around 11,000 trees planted on its grounds to realize the concept of a daily community park, offering customers a space that is closer to nature and environmentally friendly.

After more than a decade in Vietnam, AEON has invested over US$1.5 billion and is operating 12 shopping malls and department stores, more than 200 supermarkets, convenience stores, and specialty shops.

This year, in addition to opening a shopping mall and department store in Hue and the upcoming AEON Tan An, the retailer plans to launch two more malls in Hung Yen and HCMC, along with dozens of other outlets, including MaxValue stores.

The company is targeting about 30% sales growth this year compared to last year. It said most of AEON’s revenue and profit come from its shopping malls and tenants, followed by the retail segment.
