HCMC – Vietnam’s exports of agro-forestry-fishery products have reached US$34.27 billion in the first seven months of 2024, up by 18.8% from a year earlier, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The sector’s trade surplus has risen to US$9.42 billion, surging by 60% year-on-year. In July alone, exports have amounted to US$5.11 billion, up by 18.2% from the same month last year. Of this, key produce accounted for US$2.62 billion, forestry products US$1.4 billion, and fishery products US$880 million.
Agricultural exports in the seven-month period have totaled US$18.21 billion, up by 23.4% year-on-year. Forestry exports have amounted to US$9.41 billion, rising by 21.1%, while fishery exports have reached US$5.29 billion, an increase of 7.3%.
The export of high-value products has seen significant growth, with items such as rice, coffee, cashew nuts, and fruits and vegetables experiencing double-digit growth.
The U.S., China, and Japan have been the largest markets for Vietnamese agricultural products, with exports to these countries rising by 21.6%, 11.3%, and 4%, respectively.
