HCMC – Air tickets for the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday are now on sale, with Vietnam Airlines Group making available more than 3.5 million seats and Vietjet Air offering around 2.5 million tickets for the peak travel period.

Vietnam Airlines Group, which consists of Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and VASCO, has opened early ticket sales for the Tet holiday.

More than 3.5 million seats will be offered across its domestic and international routes during the peak period from February 2 to March 3, 2026, corresponding to the 15th day of the final lunar month through the first full moon of the new year.

Seat capacity for this Tet holiday has risen by nearly 20% compared to the same period in 2025.

From September 3, passengers can book tickets via the Vietnam Airlines website, mobile app, ticket offices, and official agents, marking the first sales phase based on the approved flight schedule.

Flights will mainly serve the three big hubs, Hanoi, Danang, and HCMC, as well as popular destinations such as Haiphong, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Hue, Gia Lai, and others.

In addition to the domestic market, Vietnam Airlines Group is also expanding its international routes.

The carrier has scheduled more late-night and early-morning flights, with nighttime services accounting for around 20%, to maximize operating capacity and ease daytime congestion.

Earlier, Vietjet Air also released 2.5 million tickets for the period from February 3 to March 2, 2026, covering both domestic travel demand and international routes.

A survey by The Saigon Times shows that round-trip Tet airfares are currently double the normal rates. Return tickets on the HCMC-Hanoi route range from VND5.5 million to VND7.4 million, while HCMC-Danang flights are priced from VND4.4 million, and HCMC-Nha Trang tickets commonly range between VND3.6 million and VND7.2 million.
