HCMC – The American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam has elected its first national Board of Governors, creating a unified leadership structure for the chamber for the first time in its 32-year history.
The newly elected board has 27 members representing the chamber’s membership in Hanoi, HCMC, and central Vietnam. At the same meeting, the board selected its first national officers, including chair Mark Gillin.
AmCham Vietnam previously operated through two independent chapters in Hanoi and HCMC.
Earlier this year, members of both chapters approved a new charter establishing the national structure, according to the chamber.
The organization said the unified board is intended to strengthen coordination across the country, enhance advocacy efforts, and improve engagement with policymakers and partners.
“This is a significant moment for AmCham Vietnam,” Gillin said, adding that the chamber now operates with one board representing members nationwide.
AmCham Vietnam is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political organization that promotes trade, commerce and investment between the United States and Vietnam. It represents U.S. businesses operating in the country and works to improve the business environment.
