Central Vietnam’s golf industry is reaping the rewards of targeted marketing efforts in Australia, with clubs along the Vietnam Golf Coast (VGC) reporting a sharp rise in rounds played by Australian visitors.

Montgomerie Links, one of the region’s premier courses, recorded a 20% increase in Australian rounds over the past two years, climbing from 1,700 to 2,200 annually.

Ba Na Hills Golf Club saw even stronger growth, with Australian participation surging by 35-40%. The influx of golfers, particularly during Australia’s winter months, has helped sustain the region’s tourism year-round.

The success stems from a series of high-profile initiatives, including welcoming Australian golf media, such as Golf Digest Australia to experience Central Vietnam’s offerings firsthand.

Earlier this year, Laguna Golf Lang Co, designed by Sir Nick Faldo, hosted roadshows in Melbourne and Sydney. These events brought together Australian media and tour operators, showcasing Central Vietnam’s world-class courses and luxurious accommodations.

“These roadshows demonstrate our commitment to positioning Central Vietnam as a leading golf destination for Australians,” said Stephen Banks, director of golf at Laguna Golf Lang Co. “By fostering connections with key players in the market, we aim to build lasting partnerships and promote sustained tourism growth.”

The region boasts standout courses designed by renowned figures, including Luke Donald (Ba Na Hills Golf Club), Colin Montgomerie (Montgomerie Links), and Greg Norman.

“Australian golfers are drawn to our world-class courses, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality,” said Le Vo Hoang Van, club manager at Montgomerie Links.
