The urgency of greening

Vietnamese logistics companies that fail to adopt green practices swiftly may face significant challenges and risk losing international market share. Green initiatives Environmental standards in logistics are no longer just a trend but a mandatory requirement in today’s global business landscape. Those companies slow to adapt risk being left behind. In response, major logistics firms are investing in cleaner technologies, vehicles, and renewable energy sources to reduce their carbon footprint. Le Duy Hiep, general director of Transimex, said the company is prioritizing green logistics to combat climate change by integrating advanced technology and renewable energy. Transimex’s recently built cold storage facility in Long An Province features an automated cold storage system (ASRS) powered by solar energy, significantly cutting greenhouse gas emissions. According to Hiep, Transimex is not only focusing on new projects but has also transitioned its entire cold and cool storage systems across all logistics centers to solar power over the past five years. The company’s 5,016kWp solar system generates approximately 7,164MWh of clean energy annually, reducing CO2 emissions by 5,760 tons per year.
