HCMC – Lam Dong Province has approved the first phase of a 73.62-kilometer expressway linking its mountainous cities of Bao Loc and Dalat, at a total cost of VND17.7 trillion.
The expressway will be developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) and become operational by the fourth quarter of 2027, the Vietnam News Agency reported, citing a decision signed today, March 31, by Tran Hong Thai, chairman of the People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province.
The expressway begins at Loc Phat Ward in Bao Loc City and ends at Hiep Thanh Commune in Duc Trong District, where it will connect to the Lien Khuong-Prenn Expressway.
Once completed, the expressway will feature four lanes with a 24.75-meter-wide roadbed and a designed speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour. It will include two emergency stopping lanes and supporting infrastructure, such as an intelligent traffic management center, non-stop toll collection stations, rest areas, and vehicle weigh stations.
The project will be financed with VND7.76 trillion from the state budget, or 43.8% of the total cost, while private investors will contribute VND9.96 trillion.
A consortium of T&T Group, FUTA Group, and Phuong Thanh Transport Construction and Investment JSC will develop the project under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract.
The provincial government has chosen Transport Engineering Design Incorporated (TEDI) to conduct the feasibility study for the project.
This expressway is part of Lam Dong’s broader effort to enhance road connectivity between Dalat City, HCMC, and the southeastern provinces, aiming to reduce travel time and boost economic development.
