Becamex IDC issues VND200 billion of bonds

HCMC – Investment and Industrial Development Corporation (Becamex), whose BCM shares are traded on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, has issued bonds worth VND200 billion.

The bond lot, coded BCMH2427002, was issued on August 8 and is set to fall due on August 8, 2027.

On June 17, Becamex IDC issued VND800 billion worth of bonds, coded BCMH2427001. With an annual coupon of 10.5%, these bonds will mature on June 17, 2027.

As of June 30, 2024, Becamex IDC’s total short-term and long-term debt had increased by 7.9% over the start of the year to VND21.3 trillion. This amount equals 107.3% of the company’s total equity.

In the second quarter of this year, Becamex IDC generated total revenue of VND1.16 trillion, down by 9.7% against the same period last year. However, its after-tax profit amounted to VND394.14 billion, an 11.48-fold increase year-on-year.

Closing the trading session today, August 16, BCM rose by 2.12% against yesterday’s session to VND72,300, with 943,900 shares changing hands.

In a related development, the strong demand has invigorated the market, leading to the VN-Index’s biggest increase since the beginning of the year.

With winners outnumbering losers by 413 to 41, the VN-Index added 28.67 points, or 2.34%, versus the previous day, at 1,252.23 points. Among the winners, 27 stocks hit their ceiling prices.

More than 965 million shares worth VND23.01 trillion were traded on the southern bourse, skyrocketing by 94.16% in volume and 99.4% in value against the previous session. Block deal transactions contributed VND1.5 trillion to the overall value.

In the VN30 basket, only VNM remained at the reference price, while the rest reported gains, with the index ending up by more than 26 points.

Among them, GVR and SSI were the main drivers as both rose by 5.8%. GVR contributed nearly two points to the overall index.

The liquidity of securities and real estate stocks also ranked among the top in the market. Notably, VIX was the most active, with around 55.2 million shares traded.

On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index improved 2.89% day-on-day at 235.15 points, with 153 advancing and 33 declining. The trading volume was 86.9 million shares, with a value of VND1.7 trillion, a 2.5-fold increase against yesterday’s session.
