HCMC – A section of HCMC Beltway 3 will be temporarily opened on August 19, thus connecting the beltway to the HCMC–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway.
A newly built interchange linking the beltway and the expressway will feature a toll station using both open and closed tolling systems, according to the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC).
Component 1A of HCMC Beltway 3, which links HCMC with Dong Nai and Tay Ninh provinces, will allow vehicles to directly enter and exit the expressway. The toll station at the connection point will have six lanes, with three for entry and three for exit, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
Under the new system, vehicles traveling from An Phu to Long Phuoc will pay current rates. Trips from An Phu to Beltway 3 will follow the open toll system, with fees applied for distances of four kilometers or more. Vehicles entering the expressway from Beltway 3 will first be charged for the four-kilometer segment to An Phu/Beltway 2, then continue under the closed system for the remainder of their journey.
For vehicles from Dong Nai heading to HCMC, tolls will be recorded at both Beltway 3 and Long Phuoc if they exit at Beltway 3. All vehicles passing through the interchange must pay tolls as required to recover investment costs for the project.
