HCMC – Vietnam has successfully awarded contracts for all 171 bidding packages to supply 200,000 tons of rice to the national reserve system in 2025.
According to the General Department of State Reserves, regional reserve units conducted bid openings, evaluated submissions, and followed legal procedures under the Bidding Law. On September 22, contracts were signed with winning suppliers, completing the Government’s target for this year’s procurement.
The rice will be delivered to warehouses across the country by October 31.
Breakdowns by region show significant allocations. Region I will store 12,000 tons at seven sites, Region II 8,000 tons at three sites, and Region III 31,000 tons at 17 sites. Region IV will take in 14,000 tons across five warehouses, while Region V will handle 5,000 tons at three locations.
In southern areas, Region VI will add 1,500 tons at one site, Region VII 29,500 tons at 16 sites, and Region VIII 20,000 tons at eight sites. Region IX will receive 8,500 tons at two sites, and Region X 24,500 tons at six warehouses.
Elsewhere, Region XI will store 6,000 tons across four sites, Region XII 3,000 tons at one site, and Region XIII 12,000 tons at four sites. Region XIV will add 20,000 tons at five locations, while Region XV will bring in 5,000 tons at one site.
The nationwide procurement ensures the Government’s full stockpiling plan for 2025 is on track.
