HCMC – Binh Duong Province has approved 23 projects with total registered capital of US$1.7 billion, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

At a ceremony on January 2, the provincial government granted in-principle investment approvals for 20 projects and investment registration certificates for three other projects.

Among the approved initiatives, two are significant investments by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) with combined capital of over VND1.6 trillion.

The first project involves the construction of the 220kV Binh My substation and its connection lines in Bac Tan Uyen District. With an investment of nearly VND442 billion, this project aims to secure a stable power supply for Bac Tan Uyen District, supporting the economic and social development of Binh Duong Province and neighboring areas.

It is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2025 and be completed by the fourth quarter of the same year.

The second project is the 220kV Ben Cat 2 substation, which has a total investment of over VND1,161 billion.

This project includes the construction of a 220kV substation with a capacity of 750 MVA and approximately 20 kilometers of new 220kV transmission lines. Implementation is planned from the third quarter of 2024 to the third quarter of 2027.

The project will support industrial zones in Ben Cat City, reduce the load on transformers and substations in the region, and enhance the efficiency of the 110kV transmission network.
