HCMC – The southern province of Binh Phuoc is accelerating work on key infrastructure projects to drive economic growth and improve connectivity, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
A major project is the Gia Nghia-Chon Thanh Expressway, scheduled to open in 2027. This 128.8-km, four-lane expressway will have speed limits ranging from 100 to 120 kilometer per hour.
The project aims to ease congestion on National Highway 14 while enhancing links between the southeastern region and the Central Highlands.
The expressway needs a total investment of VND25.5 trillion, including VND10.5 trillion from the state budget.
Binh Phuoc is also prioritizing the construction of a seven-kilometer section of the HCMC-Chon Thanh Expressway within the province. This project is expected to reduce traffic on National Highway 13 and strengthen the province’s connectivity with HCMC.
As part of its industrialization strategy, Binh Phuoc has developed a network of 13 industrial zones covering over 6,000 hectares, with twelve zones currently operational and five actively seeking investment from domestic and foreign sources.
In addition, the province is investing in healthcare, public services, and rural infrastructure to improve residents’ quality of life.
