BOS has new board members

HCMC – After two final members of the board of directors of BOS Securities Corporation had tendered their resignation, the firm has named three replacements.

Le Ba Phuong now serves as board chairman while Trinh Van Nam and Pham Thi Thanh Mai as members of the board, the local media reported.

Le Ba Phuong had earlier held no positions at the securities firm which is related to many FLC executives, but worked as a member of the supervisory board at FLC in 2014.

Chu Tien Vuong, Phuong’s predecessor, tendered his resignation as chairman of the BOS Securities Corporation for personal reasons. Before being picked as chairman of BOS to replace Huong Tran Kieu Dung in April, Vuong served as an independent board member of BOS.

In addition, the securities firm elected Bui Thi Quynh Trang as a member of the supervisory board.

At its annual general meeting on August 16, ART passed a plan to obtain VND110 billion in revenue and VND50 billion in before-tax profit this year.

Closing the trading session today, August 18, ART gained 2%, ending its two-session falling streak.

Market breadth turned negative as losers outnumbered winners by 311 to 132. The VN-Index shed 1.62 points, or 0.13%, from the session earlier, at 1,273.66.

Over 599 million shares worth VND15.4 trillion changed hands, down 16% in volume and 13% in value from the day earlier.

Securities stock SSI gained steam and took the lead by liquidity on bourse with a matching volume of 28.6 million shares.

On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index continued its downward spiral, losing 1.4 points, or 0.46%, against the previous session, at 301.19, with 79 gainers and 107 decliners
