HCMC – As he has made a full recovery, Vietnam’s 91st patient, a British pilot, will be transported home via a commercial flight on July 12.
The patient is eligible to be discharged from hospital, Thanh Nien Online reported, citing the national steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control.
Vietnam Airlines will operate a flight to take the British pilot home and then repatriate Vietnamese citizens from the United Kingdom.
The patient will take a Covid-19 test to confirm he is free from the virus before entering the UK.
HCMC-based Cho Ray Hospital will work with the authorized insurance units to complete all the procedures for the patient to be discharged from the hospital.
The 91st patient has spent 109 days at the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases and Cho Ray Hospital to date.
As of this morning, July 6, the country has gone 81 days without community transmission of the virus, noted the national steering committee.
