HCMC – Dinh Viet Thang, director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), has submitted a request for early retirement due to health issues, according to the Ministry of Transport.
Transport Minister Tran Hong Minh has instructed the CAAV’s leadership and its Party Committee to provide written feedback regarding Thang’s request. Additionally, Thang must submit documentation from authorized agencies to verify his reduced work capacity.
Born in 1965, Dinh Viet Thang holds a degree in air traffic management and a master’s degree in management from Belgium. He is fluent in English and Russian. Thang has served as the CAAV’s director since June 26, 2017.
