HCMC – Can Tho City is urging faster progress on the Vinh Thanh Industrial Park Phase 2 project, with a focus on land demarcation, land clearance, and environmental impact assessments.
The chairman of the city’s People’s Committee has met with the developer, Thanh Binh Phu My JSC, to review the project. The company has finished terrain, geological, and hydrological surveys required for the project’s design. It plans to complete the feasibility study and basic design by July and submit them for approval in October.
The industrial park is expected to form part of a broader industrial and supply chain network. It will connect to the Phu My 3 specialized industrial park, the Phu My inland container depot, and the Cai Mep-Thi Vai deep-water ports.
Can Tho’s chairman urged Thanh Binh Phu My to accelerate the completion of the environmental impact report, feasibility study, and construction drawings for the project. Local departments were instructed to fast-track land clearance and resettlement processes for those affected by the development.
The city also plans to invest in transport infrastructure to support the park. The Department of Construction will propose upgrades to roads linking the park to National Road 80 and the Thot Not bypass.
The Vanh Thanh Industrial Park Phase 2 project spans 540.8 hectares and carries an investment of VND7.85 trillion. It was approved by the prime minister in December 2024 and is set to operate for 50 years, starting from the land lease date.
