HCMC – Can Tho City plans to start construction on 324 social homes in the fourth quarter of the year, with completion scheduled for the second quarter of 2026, ensuring the city meets its full-year target of building 1,397 units.
During a meeting on October 13 reviewing the progress of local housing projects, Nguyen Van Hoa, vice chairman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee, urged departments, agencies, and investors to mobilize resources and resolve bottlenecks to accelerate construction and fulfill the Prime Minister’s target of 1,397 units this year.
Nguyen Hieu Nghia, deputy head of the Housing and Real Estate Market Management Division under the Department of Construction, said that following recent administrative boundary adjustments, Can Tho’s target for social housing development through 2030 is 16,900 units.
Between 2021 and 2024, the city completed 2,252 units. As of October 5, with seven projects underway, 1,073 units were on track for completion this year, achieving 77% of the target.
