Can Tho to set up three more field hospitals

HCMC – The Can Tho government has decided to establish field hospitals 4, 5 and 6 to treat Covid-19 patients as the number of infections in the Mekong Delta city is rising, said Can Tho Vice Chairman Duong Tan Hien on August 22.

Field Hospital No. 4 will be located at Regiment 932 in Cai Rang District and have 400 beds, while Field Hospital No. 5 will have a capacity of 250 beds and be located at the College of Economics and Technology in Ninh Kieu District’s An Hoa Ward.

Another field hospital with 800 beds will be converted from the center for training and professional training of the city’s Police Department in An Binh Ward of Ninh Kieu District, the local media reported.

The establishment of the three field hospitals, with a total cost of VND9.2 billion, will be carried out within 14 days, according to the municipal government.

As of August 22, the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho had reported over 3,400 Covid-19 infections in the ongoing fourth wave of Covid-19, which began in late April.
