HCMC – His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Montréal made a port call in HCMC today, August 15, as part of efforts to strengthen defense ties and bilateral relations between Vietnam and Canada. The frigate will be docked at Nha Rong Wharf until August 19.
The visit underscores Canada’s commitment to its Comprehensive Partnership with Vietnam and the broader Indo-Pacific region. During the five-day stay, HMCS Montréal will engage in military and diplomatic cooperation while the crew will participate in community events to foster people-to-people exchange.
“We are excited to be in Vietnam, a valued Canadian partner in Southeast Asia,” said Commander Travis Bain, commanding officer of HMCS Montréal. “This visit offers an opportunity to collaborate with the local community and demonstrate our commitment to regional security and stability.”
