HCMC – The first phase of the Cao Lanh-An Huu Expressway is 55% complete, according to the Transportation Project Management Board of Dong Thap Province.

Contractors have deployed over 450 workers and more than 160 pieces of equipment and machinery to advance construction. The project has reached a total completed value of nearly VND1.4 trillion.

The service road has been fully constructed, while 14.6 kilometers of sand backfilling has been completed for the main route. Wick drains are being installed, and surcharge loading is underway to stabilize weak soil.

Bridge construction is progressing, with lower structures of continuous deck girders finished and reinforced concrete work continuing on the upper structures. Most of the 19 bridges are structurally complete, though some still require girder installation.

Land clearance and infrastructure relocation have been finalized. The project requires approximately 2.3 million cubic meters of sand, and the People’s Committee of Dong Thap Province has allocated four sand mines to contractors under a special regulatory framework.

Phase 1 of the 16-kilometer expressway runs through Cao Lanh District, with a total investment of around VND3.64 trillion. The Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee is overseeing the project, which began construction in June 2023 and is expected to be completed by late 2025.

The committee has also requested the Ministry of Transport to expedite the My An-Cao Lanh Expressway, particularly the section linking National Highway 30 to the Cao Lanh-An Huu Expressway interchange.

It also urged the People’s Committee of Tien Giang Province to accelerate the second phase of the Cao Lanh-An Huu Expressway, ensuring integration between the two phases and the DT.850 interchange.
