HCMC — Central provinces will celebrate the 80th anniversaries of the August Revolution of 1945 and National Day of Vietnam (September 2) with a series of groundbreaking ceremonies and project inaugurations on August 19.
According to the Ministry of Construction, multiple provinces in the region will simultaneously launch and complete key urban and transportation projects to mark the occasion.
In Danang City, work will start on the Danang Downtown cultural park and commercial service complex, which has total adjusted investment capital of nearly VND79.8 trillion and covers 769,000 square meters. The complex will feature a tower with over 70 stories, expected to become a new landmark for the city.
Other large-scale projects include the expansion of Chu Lai Truong Hai auto mechanical industrial park and the Ba Na – Suoi Mo eco-tourism and urban area, alongside numerous resettlement, drainage, and transport developments.
In Quang Ngai Province, the Phuoc Loc Bridge will open on August 19 after three years of construction. Spanning more than 2.5 kilometers with a total investment of VND850 billion, the bridge is distinguished by its red steel arch design. Authorities said the bridge will link both banks of the Tra Khuc River, reduce traffic congestion on National Highway 1, and improve connectivity for major industrial zones.
Meanwhile, the People’s Committee of Hue City announced the groundbreaking of four major infrastructure projects: the second phase of the Loc Tien resettlement area, the No. 1 Phu Da resettlement area, the resettlement area No. 6 in the An Van Duong new urban zone, and the Phong Hien public cemetery. It said these projects are designed not only to meet housing and social needs but also to support urban growth along sustainable and modern lines.
Nationwide, Vietnam will celebrate the anniversaries of the August Revolution and National Day with the groundbreaking and inauguration of 250 projects totaling VND1.28 quadrillion, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
Among them are eight projects of national importance, dozens of Class A developments, and hundreds of Class B and C projects spanning defense, transportation, civil and urban infrastructure.
In the Mekong Delta, celebrations will include the inauguration of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge and groundbreaking ceremonies for new energy, transportation, and housing projects.
