HCMC – The British Embassy in Hanoi recently commemorated the 40th anniversary of the global Chevening Government Scholarship program and its 30-year presence in Vietnam, bringing together generations of Chevening alumni.
In celebration of this significant milestone, the British Embassy organized a series of events, including a symbolic dragon boat arrangement and cleanup activities at West Lake in Hanoi.
Iain Frew, British ambassador to Vietnam, emphasized the profound significance of Chevening’s journey in reaching out to Vietnamese students and fostering growth and connectivity within the Chevening alumni community.
Over the past three decades, hundreds of Vietnamese students have been awarded Chevening Scholarships, enabling them to pursue their educational aspirations in the United Kingdom and contribute positively to society. These individuals have established a remarkable network of British-educated scholars in Vietnam.
