HCMC – Contractors on the Chi Thanh – Van Phong Expressway project are working through the Lunar New Year to meet construction deadlines.

Despite the holiday, hundreds of workers and engineers remain on-site to continue construction on the Phu Yen section of the expressway. The project is now progressing after a two-month delay due to heavy rain.

Le Minh Phuong, CEO of Bac – Trung – Nam Infrastructure Construction JSC, stated that the team is using extra shifts and equipment to catch up on lost time. They are working to address issues such as difficult soil conditions and material shortages.

One of the primary obstacles is the extraction of sufficient soil from the Cay Tra soil quarry, which is only providing half of the targeted 8,000 cubic meter of soil per day due to the presence of excess rock. As a result, workers are required to extend their hours to stay on schedule.

According to the Project Management Board 7, 44 teams, 750 machines, and 1,750 workers have been mobilized to speed up work.

The Chi Thanh – Van Phong Expressway project spans more than 48 kilometers, passing through Tuy An District, Tuy Hoa City, Phu Hoa and Tay Hoa districts, and Dong Hoa Town. The project has a total investment of nearly VND11 trillion. It began in early 2023, and is expected to be completed in 2025.
