“When the nation marks the 100th anniversary of its founding in 2045, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) would be among the world’s top 100 cities and Southeast Asia’s international megacities, and would become a global destination and an economic, financial, tourism, service, education and healthcare hub of Asia. It would be a city with distinctive, sustainable economic, cultural and social development, high quality of life, and deep international integration,” states the resolution adopted at the first congress of the HCMC Party Committee for the 2025-2030 tenure. To achieve this vision, the corporate sector plays a pivotal role. Therefore, assessing the position of the city’s enterprises can help the city government, businesses and the public identify what is feasible and what needs to be done. With available information, the companies ranked in the 2025 Fortune 500 list provide a useful reference to determine the relative position of local corporate sectors.
