Alma Resort on Cam Ranh peninsula has unveiled two large-scale cultural performances aimed at showcasing Vietnamese traditions through a blend of modern and traditional entertainment.
Beginning July 5, the resort’s 6000-seat outdoor amphitheater hosts “The Stage – Alma Show,” a 70-minute spectacle celebrating Vietnam’s five elements of nature—earth, water, fire, wood, and metal—through an immersive mix of dance, magic, water puppetry, visual effects, and fashion. Performed twice nightly at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., the show accommodates up to 400 guests per session.
The program opens with a tribute to the ancient Champa Kingdom through the Apsara dance, followed by thematic segments such as a lotus flower creation from silk to represent earth, a dramatic fire sword performance, and a modern flash mob featuring traditional Ao Dai garments to represent metal.
The production includes audience interaction and is led by 24 dancers and magicians Jacky (Haesung Kim) and Bui Huu Thien, under the direction of acclaimed Korean producers Jin (Hyukjin Cho) and Terry (Byong-kok Jung).
In parallel, Alma also stages “The Magic and Water Puppet Show” daily at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. This 50-minute program includes 30 minutes of traditional water puppetry performed by 10 professional puppeteers, followed by 20 minutes of magical illusions with a water theme. The performance highlights Vietnamese folklore, including the legendary hero Thanh Giong and Emperor Le Loi’s magical sword.
Tickets are priced at US$30 for the Alma Show and US$20 for the Magic and Water Puppet Show, available at the resort’s promotions desk and amphitheater.
