HCMC – The General Department of Vietnam Customs has directed customs authorities at border gates, ports, and warehouses to arrange for employees to be on duty around the clock following a disruption in the data processing system.
As of the morning of August 7, efforts are underway to address the issue.
To prevent delays in handling shipments that have already been cleared, released, put into storage, or approved for transport, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has provided guidelines for implementing manual customs procedures.
For exported goods, customs declarants are advised to print two copies of the export declaration form and submit them to the customs sub-department managing the relevant border gates, ports, or warehouses.
For imported goods, declarants must also submit two copies of the import declaration to the responsible customs department.
For goods subject to customs sealing, the customs authority requires the customs sub-department from which the goods are transported to carry out the sealing and prepare three handover records as per the specified template.
Once the system is repaired, all customs departments must immediately update information on exported and imported goods subject to customs supervision into the corresponding system, according to the customs directive.
