HCMC – Danang looks to achieve GRDP per capita of US$5,000 in 2025, with targeted economic growth of 8-8.5% compared to 2024.

The city anticipates export revenue to increase by 6-7% and aims to surpass state budget revenue targets. These goals were outlined in a resolution recently approved by the Danang People’s Council, which focuses on economic and social development for the coming year.

To achieve these targets, Danang plans to boost its service sector value by 9-9.5% while supporting key industries such as tourism, technology, and high-tech manufacturing.

The city is also enhancing its infrastructure, including expanding its international airport with a new cargo terminal capable of handling 100,000 tons annually. Additionally, Danang seeks to develop its yacht industry to enhance tourism services.

Investment attraction remains a priority. The city will open 13.1 hectares of land at Hoa Cam Industrial Park and establish new industrial clusters in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward and Hoa Lien Commune. Strategic policies will focus on supporting industries like semiconductor manufacturing and artificial intelligence.

In agriculture, Danang aims to promote eco-friendly and high-tech farming, with specialized farming zones planned for Hoa Vang District. The city also intends to integrate agriculture with eco-tourism models to diversify its rural economy.

The city has set a goal to lower the unemployment rate to 3% and generate over 26,000 new jobs by the end of 2025. Efforts will also focus on poverty reduction, with nearly 2,000 households expected to be lifted out of poverty.

For 2024, Danang’s GRDP is projected to grow 7.51%, ranking second among centrally-governed cities. Tourism saw a robust recovery, with international arrivals more than doubling from 2023 and surpassing pre-pandemic levels.

The city’s budget revenue reached VND25.76 trillion, exceeding projections by 33%, a result attributed to proactive disaster preparedness and maintaining political stability.
